By tapping on various points at the end of the body’s meridians, your problems, emotions and feelings can be alleviated, or even eliminated, in a short time.

This powerful technique can be used in your everyday life for quick and effective stress and anxiety relief for yourself and and the young people in your life.

Awakening the Sensual Goddess

June 27, 2018

Awakening the Sensual Goddess … with Daniela Tatasciore

Sensuality is so much beyond sex and its inherent gift is innocent and sacred. It holds the key to a feeling of wholeness within, to a sense of inner peace, and to an experience of a full and rich inner life.

As a contrast to our loud and busy culture, sensuality is a gentle shift, a softening into the present moment. You can gently awaken your sensuality through body awareness and Sacred Feminine Movement practice.

Sacred Feminine Movement (SFM) is an easy, gentle and intrinsic dance form. It is a powerful doorway to embodying and awakening the natural sensuality that is intrinsic to you. It easily connects you to your feminine radiance, your natural sensuality and deep bliss.

Sensuality became suppressed since ancient times, forgotten and misunderstood in spite of its inherent innocence and divinity. This has left many women unknowingly starved, yearning to be fully alive again.

If you allow yourself to practice this every day for a short period of time (at least 2 minutes every day) you will be amazed at how more relaxed, present, feminine and sensual you will feel throughout your day.

Human Forests: Mapping Our Circles of Support

Human Forests: Mapping Our Circles of Support … with Bree Calarco

The ancient Old Growth forests know how to connect, how to share resources, how to communicate and how to support in community.

Human beings across the world have more opportunity to connect than ever in the modern digital age. This can be a beautiful gift as well as a confusing challenge in our efforts to fulfill our needs for connection and community in a way that doesn’t stress us out.

Using the model of an old-growth forest, Bree Calarco will guide us through a creative process to map out our circles of support, increasing our awareness of who we have gathered around us.

This map can unveil a way to direct our social energy investments in ways that are increasingly supportive and add to the wellbeing of the network we are growing.

Please have a large piece of paper (or 2) for drawing and drawing mediums that you enjoy using (crayons, pencils, pens).

Cultural Appropriation … with Katharine Krueger

Cultural appropriation happens when a member of a dominant culture adopts something from a culture that has been marginalized, exploited and/or oppressed by any dominant culture. It’s important to consider the complexities of cultural appropriation as we offer mentorship and rites of passage.

We share some simple ideas about a complex and controversial subject, and invite you to explore how we can avoid being appropriative as mentors. Please view with an open mind.

Women & Young Women’s Body Image and Reclaiming One’s Sacred Temple … with Daniela Tatasciore

Our young girls are very susceptible to body criticizing especially with their exposure to media. As elders, one of the most effective ways of teaching body acceptance and love is to model it in ourselves to our young women.

All too often, we complain about and criticize our bodies. Allowing yourself to learn to embrace and love your body is a gift to both yourself and to our young daughters and sisters.

Finding the Sweet Spot Betwixt Quiet & Chaos in a Girls’ Circle: Panel Discussion

Each circle is its own organism, comprised of its own energies and gifts, brought by the girls. When girls gather, sometimes it can be giggly and a bit chaotic, other times it takes awhile to build engagement.

When things feel too quiet or too crazy, mentors can feel a-sea, wondering what to do. In this Red Tent, we’ll talk about our experiences and share ideas about best practices for responding to low energy and high energy.

Endocrine Disruptors: What, Where, and Practical Solutions … with Vivitha Naidu

We come into contact with countless Endocrine Disruptors daily.  What are they?  What effective strategies will minimize our contact, exposure, and the negative effects on our bodies?

Any time we are talking about health and well-being, we aim to strike a balance between healthy personal choices and acknowledging the systemic factors which make it difficult for all people, but especially people with less privilege.

Examples of systemic health issues might be cell phone towers in your neighborhood, endocrine disruptors in your work place, and hormonal birth control offered without full disclosure of its effects.

Mentor Boundaries - Educational Not Therapeutic

February 17, 2018

February 17, 2018

Mentor Boundaries – Educational Not Therapeutic … with Katharine Krueger and Gina Angelini

One important boundary is to stay in the role of a mentor, which looks more like an educator than a therapist.

For example, sometimes a parent will bring a personal or parenting issue to you. The parent may want you to fix it or may want your advice about how to respond.

Even if you’re a therapist or a social worker, a mentor never offers diagnosis, coaching, advice or anything that remotely resembles therapy.

How do we recognize these situations and respond in a mentorly fashion?

Following the Moon with Girls

Following the Moon with Girls … with Katharine Krueger

Tuning into Sister Moon, to Grandmother Moon, to the lunar cycle!!! Blissful, beautiful, and easy to do. Over time, so many gifts may emerge such as deepened connection to our bodies, our cyclicity, our intuition, the natural world, our divine feminine or goddess nature, and a profound presence with ourselves and the elements and the cosmos.

So it’s an incredible for ourselves, for girls, for families, and for anyone and everyone to take up any sort of moon-following practice – whether it’s simple observation … or howling … or singing … or praying … or intention-setting … or gratitude-offering … or blessing-asking … or drawing … or meditating.

We talk about the gifts of the different phases of the lunar cycle. We  describe a variety of all-ages moon-connecting activities – to enjoy ourselves and to pass on to the next generation.

• Get clear and do inner work before responding
• Respond in a non-shaming, positive way

There are so many ways to turn an uncomfortable or painful situation into a beautiful moment of insight and self-acceptance.
